Polonia

The United States is the world's largest economy and a significant trading partner for Poland. From June 28 to July 5, at the invitation of the Polish Association, a delegation from the Patria Polonia Institute of the Scientific Society of the Catholic University of Lublin visited Texas.

On October 4, 1918, General Józef Haller took command of the Polish Army in France. He was the first Polish commander of this formation, nicknamed the "Blue Army" (due to the color of its uniform), which operated in exile during World War I.

Approximately 20 million people of Polish descent live outside Poland, 10-12 million of whom live in the United States. For years, they remained on the margins of public life, despite their enormous demographic, financial, and intellectual potential. Today, there is a chance for the Polish diaspora to regain its rightful place and become an integral part of the nation, co-shaping state policy and building Poland's international clout.

The new socio-political arrangement, with President Karol Nawrocki as its architect, will likely be based on a broad coalition of parties, persuasions, and groups. This project presents a unique opportunity: the genuine inclusion of the Polish diaspora in the country's public life.

Bilingualism has many intellectual, emotional, social, and health benefits. Numerous studies on bilingualism over the past several decades confirm the positive impact of bilingual upbringing on children's development.

In a survey of nearly 1,800 Polish Americans, the Piast Institute sought to create a basic profile of the Polish American community, including their demographics, income levels, and political views. We were interested in finding out how Americans, particularly young Americans, perceive us.
